Your personal neoom electricity price

Description of the personal neoom electricity price display in the neoom App

The personal neoom electricity price is your effective electricity price (in ct/kWh) that you achieve thanks to your neoom storage power plant and the intelligent optimization by the energy management system neoom Ai.

In the neoom App you can see at any time how much cheaper your electricity is compared to drawing power from your energy supplier.

While electricity prices and grid fees continue to rise, you can sit back and relax: neoom Ai lowers your electricity price automatically and you can follow this directly in the app.

Your personal neoom electricity price in the neoom App:

You will notice that the display alternates with the display of 2 other values:

  • The price shown in turquoise in cent / kWh is the one your electricity supplier charges you
  • The price shown in violet in cent / kWh is the one you receive from your electricity supplier when you feed electricity into the grid.

You can enter these two values in the neoom App in the GRIID skill:

If you have entered a dynamic electricity price in the GRIID skill, the currently valid price is shown.

How "Your personal neoom electricity price" is determined:

    • Costs for drawing electricity from the grid
    • Revenue from feeding into the electricity grid **= SUM of costs minus revenue

Your personal neoom electricity price = (costs minus revenue) divided by your total consumption** (The costs for electricity from PV production are treated as 0.)

We are already working on an extension so that we also include the costs of drawing electricity from a KLUUB energy community as well as the revenue from feeding into a KLUUB energy community in the calculation.

Even more details on your personal neoom electricity price in the app:

The electricity price shown on the neoom Ai overview page is your personal neoom electricity price for today. It is made up of the consumptions and feed-ins that have already taken place on that day as well as the consumption, generation and feed-in forecast created by neoom Ai.

If you tap the electricity price, a page with even more useful information opens:

On this page you can view your personal electricity price for yesterday, today and tomorrow and see at a glance by what percentage you come out cheaper with neoom Ai.

Important: For today you see a vertical line labeled "NOW" ("JETZT"). To the left of this line you see the grey bars for grid draw or feed-in according to the draw or feed-in that actually took place. To the right of this line you see a neoom Ai based forecast of how much electricity you are expected to draw from the grid or feed into the grid in the coming hours. The personal electricity price shown for today is made up of the actual grid draw / feed-in so far and the forecast grid draw / feed-in. As a result, the personal electricity price shown can change over the day if the forecast differs from reality.

The chart below shows you further useful information such as the price for drawing electricity from the grid and for feeding into the grid.

If you have a dynamic electricity price based on EPEX Spot Day Ahead prices, you can also show the exchange prices. Please note here that the exchange prices are shown net, all other prices including grid fees, levies and taxes. You can also have your energy draw from the grid or energy feed-in into the grid shown in the chart below. This view helps you understand how neoom Ai works when you have a dynamic electricity price. You can see that neoom Ai draws electricity from the grid in cheap hours as far as possible and as much as necessary, and feeds in during expensive hours.

Show your personal electricity price for past periods:

If you want to see your personal electricity price for a specific period, navigate on the neoom Ai overview page to Day, Month or Year and set the desired period there.

There you see your personal neoom electricity price for the selected period:

You can see the neoom electricity price tile for the selected period:

    • For all periods from 01.01.2026.
    • If you have set a dynamic tariff in the app, you can see the tile for periods from the time you configured the dynamic tariff.
    • We are currently working so that you can also see your personal electricity price for periods before 01.01.2026 independently of setting a dynamic tariff.

How grid charges (Netzentgelte), levies, markups and taxes are included in the calculation of the personal electricity price:

The personal neoom electricity price, as well as the grid draw prices and feed-in remuneration, are shown including grid charges (Netzentgelte), taxes and levies. These differ in detail by grid operator. Currently, average values are used for the display, but we are already working on an extension where the exact values for grid charges, taxes and levies can be entered by the user via the neoom App.

    Germany:

    • Grid charges (Netzentgelte): 12.06 ct/kWh
    • Levies (Abgaben): 5.28 ct/kWh
    • Markup for dynamic prices: 2 ct/kWh
    • VAT (MwSt): 19%

    Austria:

    • Grid charges (Netzentgelte): 9.28 ct/kWh
    • Levies (Abgaben): 2.3 ct/kWh
    • Markup for dynamic prices: 2 ct/kWh
    • VAT (MwSt): 20%

    Switzerland:

    • Grid charges (Netzentgelte): 13.00 ct/kWh
    • Levies (Abgaben): 3.0 ct/kWh
    • Markup for dynamic prices: n/a
    • VAT (MwSt): 8.1%

Here is a summary of the values shown:

Grid draw price = Fixed electricity price or EPEX Spot draw price (for dynamic price) + taxes, levies, grid fees etc.
Feed-in remuneration = Fixed remuneration or current EPEX Spot feed-in price (for dynamic price)
Grid draw = Shows the value/amount for an hourly block in kWh that was drawn from the grid or is forecast to be drawn from the grid
Grid feed-in = Shows the value/amount in kWh for an hourly block that was fed into the grid or is forecast to be fed into the grid
EPEX Spot exchange price = Shows the current (hourly block) exchange price excl. taxes, levies, etc.

    Important to know:

It can happen that the personal electricity price shown for a day is higher than the grid draw price. Of course you do not really pay more than the grid draw price for the electricity in this case. So why can it be shown this way?

This is because the personal electricity price is calculated as follows:

(Costs for drawing electricity from the grid minus revenue from feeding into the electricity grid) divided by your consumption for the day

If, for example, neoom Ai charges 8 kWh of cheap grid electricity into the battery at a grid draw price of 0.25 Euro / kWh, that creates grid draw costs of 2 Euro.

But if on that day you do not consume the full 8 kWh from the battery, but for example only 4 kWh, then your consumption for that day is only 4 kWh.

So the personal electricity price for that day is: 2 Euro / 4 kWh = 0.5 Euro / kWh, which is higher than the 0.25 Euro / kWh grid draw price. But because you have a "credit" in your battery (the 4 kWh of the 8 kWh charged from the grid that were not consumed on that day), you can use 4 kWh at a price of 0 Euro / kWh on the following day.

We are already working on the following extension

    Available from March 2026:

    • Availability also for our customers in Switzerland
    • Option to enter grid charges (Netzentgelte), levies, markups and taxes for the electricity price.
    • Inclusion of the costs of drawing electricity from a KLUUB energy community as well as the revenue from feeding into a KLUUB energy community in the calculation of the personal electricity price
