What is the summer low energy price (SNAP) in Austria
How the summer low energy price (SNAP) works for you
As the expansion of photovoltaics progresses quickly, particularly large amounts of electricity are often produced around midday in summer. All customers in Austria can now benefit from this development with the new summer low energy price (Sommer-Nieder-Arbeitspreis), short: SNAP.
This concerns the energy price component of grid fees (Arbeitspreis der Netzentgelte). For households and small businesses, this share is reduced by 20% from 1 April to 30 September, each day between 10 am and 4 pm.
From app version V2.14.0, the predictive intelligence of neoom Ai also takes this time-based grid fee reduction into account. This means customers can save even more when charging the battery or EV intelligently.
Make sure you operate your battery and EV charging station in the neoom App with the optimization strategy "INTELLIGENT" to benefit from SNAP. More on this here: Price-optimized EV charging with neoom Ai Price-optimized battery charging from the grid at dynamic tariffs
Important: To benefit from SNAP, you must make sure your smart meter measures consumption data in 15-minute intervals. Grid operators (Netzbetreiber) are gradually switching measurement for all households to 15-minute intervals. If you want to make sure this change has already been made for you, or if you want to initiate it, contact your electricity grid operator or check in the smart meter portal of your electricity grid operator.
